The art is beautiful and more importantly, suited for a graphic novel. The info panels are inspired. Long ago, like the 1990s, the early internet got people thinking about hypertext. Now we have an interactive graphic novel. Why stop with panels? Lets leverage the whole World Wide Web. But I digress, "Shifter" has more going for it than a typical motion comic.
The voice acting is well done, especially Wesley Crusher and "Jeeves". The dialogue, for the most part, is terrible. Comic book dialogue has fallen into a decade long rut of expository conversation and self deprecation. Who talks like that? Seems like there should be a market for freelance dialogue consultants. Fortunately, as a whole, "Shifter" is excellent. Though its not perfect, I am giving it 5 stars lest anyone believe a lower rating means it is not worth their time and money. It certainly is.
